Hair is a part of our body. We all have it, but it can be a source of frustration for adolescents undergoing rapid physical changes. And what if that adolescent is a girl? Park Hari, a soccer player with “golden legs,” has just led her team to victory in a tournament with a dazzling performance. However, her joy is short-lived when an unexpected comment leaves her feeling uneasy:

“Look at the hair on her legs, its’ a man, a man!”

Desperate to get rid of her leg hair, she turns to the internet for solutions and ends up shaving it off with her dad’s razor. But can Hari truly escape her hair troubles? What’s with the Hair is about more than just hair; it tackles social prejudices surrounding ideas like “women should be like this” and “men should be like that.” The protagonist, Hari, faces her struggles in a healthy and refreshing way, and her story is brought to life through a mix of musicals, chromakey animation, and puppet theater, offering a variety of attractions and fun. The film is based on the children’s book of the same name by Lee Jin-ha, a winner of the Daesan Literary Award for College Students.
