Chuncheon Puppet Theater, which is Korea’s first puppet theater, and Chuncheon Puppet Museum, which exhibits various materials about puppet shows, are located side by side on the Uiamho lakeside. As the Puppet Festival Chuncheon gained its popularity since its first opening in 1989, Chuncheon Puppet Theater and Chuncheon Puppet Museum were also opened in 2001 and 2004, respectively. At present, Chuncheon Puppet Theater is the main stage of the Puppet Festival Chuncheon, which is held every year, and provides a puppet show aside from the festival period. The museum displays various types of puppets from Korea and other countries, including Korea’s puppets from kkokdugaksi nori (Korean puppet play), France’s Guignols, and China’s shadow puppets. It also offers experience programs related to the exhibition. Embracing Uiamho Lake, KT&G Sangsangmadang Chuncheon is a cultural complex that consists of the Art Center and the Stay building. The Art Center was established by remodeling the previous Chuncheon Children’s Center, while the Stay building was built by remodeling the previous Gangwon-do Sports Center. With an open view of the lake at the front, the Art Center is known for its construction design by Korea’s master architect, late Kim Swoo-geun. When viewed from the sky, the Art Center, which was built with Kim’s unique construction technique, resembles a butterfly sitting on the lakeside. Opened as the Children’s Center in 1980, the building was abandoned for a while and then was re-born as KT&G Sangsangmadang Chuncheon in 2014. Sangsangmadang, as part of the social contribution and restoration program of KT&G, aims to support various cultural and arts activities and offer the public an opportunity to appreciate arts and culture. While keeping its original frame of the construction in consideration of its architectural value, KT&G Sangsangmadang Chuncheon provides diverse amenities such as a theater, gallery, cafe, art shop, and so on. It has also a charming outdoor space. It has an outdoor stage near Uiamho Lake, and the walking path and the bicycle path are available in front of the stage. Jeongseon Arirang is an important intangible heritage of Korea, being designated Gangwon-do Intangible Cultural Asset No. 1, as well as recorded as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heriatge. The song was created in the late Goryeo dynasty by seven worshippers of the dynasty who settled in Jeongseon. The song was made to help the local scholars understand Chinese poetry, and to express the stories and emotions to the locals. The Jeongseon Arirang Training Hall was established to preserve and promote this history, as well as develop the local folk culture. The hall is located by the Auraji riverside at the point where Songcheon and Goljicheon Streams meet. The facilities are comprised of three buildings, divided into an exhibition area, and a experience area. In the experience area, visitors can learn how to perform Jeongseon Arirang by official holders of the intangible heritage. Programs are free but require advance reservation.

Opened in 2004, it is the only museum in Korea that specializes in and exhibits old woodblock printings from all around the world. Woodblock Printing Museum collects, stores, exhibits, researches and educates on ancient woodblock materials from many different Asian countries where engravings and woodcuts flourished including Korea, China, Japan, Tibet, Mongolia, India and Nepal. It currently stores over 3,500 individual relics including some 1,800 original woodblocks, 300 old woodblock works engraved as woodcuts, 200 books engraved on woodblocks, and 200 materials related to woodcuts. There is also a permanent woodblock experience hall, which is often utilized as a place to experience and educate those on site who are not satisfied with just seeing the works.
